iQ Toys Fastest Growing Mature Business in Central North Island

Coming off the back of another year of double digit growth, iQ Toys (www.iqtoys.co.nz) was recognised as NZ’s fastest growing mature business for the central North Island region at the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards held on the 28th October 2009.

The Fastest Growing Mature Business is a new category in the Fast 50 Awards and open to businesses that have been trading for 10 years. Other winners in the mature business category included Enztec, an internationally recognised leader in the design and development of medical devices for the orthopaedic industry (Canterbury and Upper South Island Region); and Futrix a worldwide business intelligence software company (Wellington and Lower North Island Region).

iQ Toys was started in 1996 as a home-based business by Shane and Suzette Loomb, and now employs 10 full-time staff at the New Zealand head office in Mount Maunganui and a further 2 staff in the Queensland, Australia branch. With over 100,000 customers in New Zealand and Australia, iQ Toys continues to experience strong growth in new customers and mentions, “the old adage that word-of-mouth is the best form of marketing is certainly the case for us. We have recently added Facebook links to every one of our 6000+ products allowing customers to easily communicate on their social network about the great products we have”.

Other factors Shane attributes to the strong growth are the fact that they pride themselves on outstanding customer service and hold all items in stock meaning customers receive their order within 1-3 days nationwide.
